JACK MUNCY

Heaven gained another angel on September 3, 2025, as our dear dad passed into the arms of his savior. We are comforted knowing he was greeted by his beloved wife Martha, his loved ones and friends who went before him.

Jack was born on July 4th 1934 in Keota, OK, the seventh of nine children born to Lee Jeffery and Ruby Lillian Muncy.

In the summer of 1953 he was introduced by a friend to a young lady named Martha Tyler, who had just moved to Orosi from the Los Angeles area. They were married that November and lived a long, blessed life for 66 yrs until her passing in 2020.

Most people will remember Jack as the guy they bought their furniture from. He worked many years at Mathis and Bolinger, then Crossroads and lastly The Warehouse. He met so many wonderful people who became life long friends through his work.

Jack was a long time member of the Church of Christ and was a faithful follower and daily reader of his Bible. He attended a Tuesday morning men’s Bible class for many years at Tulare First Baptist church and recently attended Bible study in his assisted living facility.

Jack was predeceased by his parents, siblings and his beloved Martha. He is survived by his 3 children: Karen (Mike) Machado, Laura Sumruld, Kelly (Renae)Muncy, 6 grandchildren: Haylie(Ty) Hanson, Ashley (Paul) Orosco, Clayton( Allie) Muncy, Logan (Lexi) Muncy, Shelby Machado, and Jon Marc Sumruld and 7 great grandchildren who were the lights of his life: Eli, Aaron, Everly, Mia, Lance, Grant and Layton

Special thanks go out to Dan, Richard and Steve from the Tuesday morning Bible class for your continued visits and prayers for daddy. Also thanks to the Wright and Zsido families for the care they provided, all the staff and residents at Marbella Visalia who spent time with our dad these past months. A big thank you to Dr Zoghbi and staff for your longtime care of daddy and to Dr Howard, palliative doctor, and his team at Kaweah Hospital, as well as all the staff on the 4th floor for your support during this difficult time. And lastly, to all our extended family, friends from church, work, and the old neighborhood, who asked about daddy, sent cards and texts, called, and prayed for him and us, we appreciate you more than we can express and have been richly blessed by you all!

Services will be graveside at North Tulare cemetery on Wednesday, September 17 @ 9:00 am.
