CELINA N. FERREIRA

Celina Ferreira, 91, ascended into Heaven on Saturday, September 27, in Tulare, CA, surrounded by her family.
 
She was born on June 16, 1934, in Altares, Terceira, Acores to Herminia and Jose Coelho.  In 1968, at the age of 34, she immigrated to the United States with her husband and children, and became a United States Citizen in 1973. Celina was a devout Catholic and a woman of faith. She loved reading, especially about the history of various Saints, and crocheting blankets.  

Celina is preceded in death by: her husband, Luiz Ferreira; her infant son, Jose Serafim Ferreira; her parents, Herminia & Jose Coelho; her brother, Jasmelino Coelho; and her son-in-law, Antonio Santos. She is survived by: her children, Herminia (Constantino) Canto, Luis (Teresa) Ferreira, Ilda (Domingos) Dinis, Filomena (the late Antonio) Santos, Joe Ferreira, and Nadine (Louie) Ourique; 2 sisters, Vielmina Lemos and Leonilde Simoes; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
