BEVERLY YVONNE “VON” JOHNSON
Beverly Yvonne “Von” Johnson, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, in Visalia, CA. She was born on November 26, 1936, in Hennepin, OK, to Roy and Fannie Haynes. Von’s family later moved to Tulare, CA, where she resided and graduated from Tulare High School in 1954. Later in life, she moved to WPB, FL, with her beloved late husband, Jim Mason, the love of her life for nearly 20 years. Together, they owned a thriving drywall business. Her strong work ethic, determination, and amazing spirit defined her life. There was very little she could not accomplish once she set her mind to it.
In 2002, Von returned to Tulare to be closer to her cherished family. She attended church regularly and deeply treasured her relationship with the Lord. Von found joy in reading, gardening, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and she had many dogs that were special to her.
Von was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Roy and Fannie Haynes; her sisters, Imogene (Obil) Smith and Vivian (William) Clayton; her soulmate, as she often mentioned, Jim Mason; and her nephew, Terry Clayton.
She will be forever remembered and lovingly missed by her loving nieces and nephews: Shelia Abbott; Kevin Clayton; Cynthia Rakich; Sandra Alexander; Edwin, Bruce, and Steven Smith.
Von is also lovingly remembered by her special daughter, Cristin (Mason) Shipman, and special grandchildren, Mason and Macy Shipman, as well as her special daughter, Becky Duarte. Von had 29 extended family members. She also had many dear friends whom she truly adored.
A Celebration of Life honoring Von’s life will be held on Saturday, February 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Legacy Church, 3890 S. Lovers Lane, Visalia, California, 93292.
