MARGARET ANN “PEGGY” RIBEIRO
October 11, 1942 – June 29, 2026
Margaret Ann “Peggy” Ribeiro was born in Lompoc, California, to William and Elizabeth Oden. She was raised in Tulare, with a brief time spent in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1960.
Peggy devoted more than three decades to Bank of America, where she worked as a teller and became a familiar, welcoming face to generations of customers. She looked forward to Friday nights at Vejar’s, where her favorite meal was the chili verde burrito. Peggy also loved Neil Diamond, a good cup of coffee, and skiing at Mt. Bachelor.
Known for her kindness, warmth, and quiet strength, Peggy earned the respect of her colleagues and the love of her family and friends. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Louie, for more than 48 years and found her greatest joy in being a mother and grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with those she loved, and her gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the CNAs and nurses at Tulare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care, kindness, and dignity they provided Peggy throughout her journey.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Louie Ribeiro; her children, Sean Barnes and his partner, Anita Morphew; Shannon (Barnes) Salsa and her husband, George; Michael Barnes and his wife, Lisa; and her cherished grandchildren, Ryan Barnes, Nathan Toomey, and Delaney Toomey.
