SCOTT ANTHONY DWYER

Scott Anthony Dwyer, 49, of Tulare, California entered eternal life on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.  Scott was born in Charlevoix, Michigan on April 14, 1975 to Robert and Jeanette Dwyer. He spent most of his childhood in Peru Indiana, where he enjoyed playing football and baseball in high school. In his free time, he took every opportunity to enjoy the many lakes Peru had to offer.

He is survived by his daughters Clair Danielle Dwyer, Avery Marie Dwyer, stepson Trent Dillard (Genesis), granddaughter Harper Dillard, mother of his children Lacey Dwyer, father Robert Dwyer, Mother Jeanette Dwyer, brothers Robbie Dwyer and Shaun Dwyer (Angela) nephews Tanner Dwyer, Dawson Dwyer, Nolan Dwyer, Wyatt Williams, Sawyer Williams, and niece Ainsley Williams.

In April of 2002, Scott joined the US Navy where he served proudly for 17 years. He was extremely proud of his military service and ended his career as a Chief Petty Officer. Throughout his years of service, he was on the USS Constellation and USS Abraham Lincoln.  He completed two tours in the Persian Gulf War during Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Scott also assisted with a tsunami rescue mission in India.  He retired from the United States Navy in 2019 as a continuation of generations and traditions serving in the United States Military.

As his cancer developed Scott found refuge in volunteering in his daughter’s classrooms, participating in school activities, and assistant coaching for the Tulare Force Soccer Team. Organizations like Happy Trails, ASPCA, and the local food bank, provided an outlet of fulfillment for him during his final years.

Services will be held on Friday, December 20th, 2024, at 1:30 pm, located at Peers-Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, 132 W. Kern Ave. Tulare, CA 93274.
