SAMMY MARTINEZ SR.
Sammy Martinez, SR passed away at his home on April 15th at the age of 63. Sam is survived by his Wife of 45 years, Alva Martinez, and his daughters Genevieve Agnew and Angie Martinez. Son, Sammy Martinez Jr. Grandchildren, Sabian Martinez Agnew, Mikey Martinez Ficher, Carmine Martinez Ficher, Jaen Martinez Agnew, Marina Martinez, Malachai Martinez Ficher, Amran Martinez Agnew, Serenity Sammy Martinez, Dorian Martinez Agnew, and Samuel Martinez(baby Sammy). Sam had numerous brothers and sisters whom he cared for and loved deeply, often times acting as a father figure to them. Sam was born in Visalia, CA and later moved to Tulare where he met and married the love of his life, Alva Moreno. Sam worked at Pirelli tire for nearly 10 years. Sam loved to coach youth football and did so for over 30 years. The highlight of his coaching career came in 2015 when he won a valley championship with his Grandsons Mikey, and Carmine on his team. Sam also coached basketball and softball throughout the years. He poured his heart into his coaching and helped many young athletes achieve their goals. A close second to his love for his family was the Oakland Raiders. He rarely missed a game, and it would ruin his day to see them lose (which happened a lot). Sam leaves behind a legacy rooted in strength, compassion, hard work, and a love for Jesus. Sam will be greatly missed and remembered forever. We know that he is up in heaven watching football with Jesus, and yes, Jesus is a Raider fan!
