ALICIA CASTELLANOZ
Was beautifully welcomed into this earthly world on June 21, 1934, and guided by the hands of Angels into her heavenly kingdom on March 20, 2025
Our beautiful beloved mother Alicia lived 90 years by Gods Grace. She was the eldest daughter of Joe and Dominga Castellanoz. Life long resident of Tulare, CA. She loved kittens and puppies and fragrances of her floral garden. She liked to hum and sing a favorite tune now and then.
Married Juan “John” Arriola which soon gave her a son Reynaldo who sadly passed on his second day. MariaElena was born, John next, then a few years later Teresa. Regarded as Castellanoz Family Matriarch Alicia was a no nonsense disciplinarian, though she was much respected by the family. Capturing a smile so illusive when caught was a magical moment. Agriculture work throughout the state was hard on the strongest man let alone a young teenager. Yet she did it. Assisting her mother raise her 13 younger siblings was a task when it came to bathing in a small metal tub. Diapers were hand washed.
Not being able to finish high school she received her diploma and nursing certificate in her married years. A Tulare City School English as a Second Language teacher aide she spoke Spanish and fluent Portuguese.
