RAMONA MOUNT MCCOWAN

Ramona went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and joined her husband, Ernie, in heaven on May 2, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born to Paul and Nellie Mount on December 26, 1939. Ramona lived in Los Angeles in her youth and later moved to Tulare County. She attended Tulare Union High School and graduated from Visalia College of Beauty. She went to work at Claire & Norma’s Beauty Shop in Tulare until she married the love of her life, Ernie McCowan, in 1959. Together, they moved to Visalia in 1961, where they began their family.

Ramona and Ernie were married 55 ½ wonderful years until his passing in 2014. They very much loved their family and friends. They were active members of Parkside Chapel for 54 years and dedicated their lives to loving God and raising three wonderful children, six beautiful grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Ramona attended Gateway Church of Visalia with her family after Ernie’s passing. 

Ramona is survived by daughter Lezlie Hoffman and spouse Randy; son Kirk McCowan and spouse Patti; son Derek McCowan and spouse Rachelle; grandchildren Karlie Stafford (Scott), Brandon Hoffman (Paige), Brett McCowan (Vanessa), Taylor Carrell (Danny), Austin Ellis (Jilaine), Colin McCowan; great grandchildren Rylynn Botello (8), Hannah Stafford (6), Ember Hoffman (5), Tabitha Stafford (4), Kennedy Carrell (3), Hudson McCowan (2), Colson Hoffman (2), Quinn Carrell (1), Beckham McCowan (5 mos.); brother Gary Mount (Mercia); sister in laws Kathie Parnell (Eddie), Shirley Conway, Brenda McCowan; and many nieces and nephews.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Nellie Mount, and her brothers, Jack and Ron Mount. Ramona was loved dearly by her family and friends. While we are heartbroken and will miss her so much, we are at peace knowing she is with our Lord and Savior, and Ernie. We cannot wait for the day that we are all reunited in heaven.
